FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (FAQs)

Is there really no charge for your resources and online trainings?

How is this possible?

Ab and Nancy Nicholas are the people who make the work of the Wellness Compass Initiative possible. Their generosity funds the creation and distribution of all our materials, as well as our trainings and support, allowing us to make everything we do available to you at little or no cost. We could not do what we do without their support.

How can I thank the Nicholas family for their generosity?

If you send a note to our mailbox we will make sure they get it.

Our mailing address is:

Can we charge if we offer your resources in our community?

We recognize that many people who offer our resources in the broader community need a sustainable way to do that. We do not control whether or how much a person may charge the public to lead groups, provide learning opportunities, or training.

How closely do I need to stick to the materials?

Holly Hughes Stoner is a former educator. Please consider the people you are serving, and adjust the materials to meet their specific needs.

What is the difference between the Wellness Circles and the Wellness Notebooks?

The Wellness Circle program is a six-week facilitated group where participants examine their current status in all eight areas of wellness and choose one area to focus on, working to make incremental changes over the course of the six weeks. Wellness Circles are offered for Adults, Parents, and Teens.

The Wellness Workbook series, available for Adults, Parents, and Teens, is a self-guided resource that offers a step-by-step guide to exploring each of the eight areas of wellness one at a time. It can be used by individuals or in a book club-style setting by groups for discussion.

Can I alter the resources to better fit the needs and time constraints of my group?

Yes! You know your group’s needs, comfort level, and background. You can certainly adjust the resources to better fit the needs of your program.

Is there anyone I can speak to to ask questions and brainstorm with about my ideas for using the Wellness Compass materials?

Someone who can give me some direction?

Yes. Carolyn Karl (carolyn@wellnesscompass.org), our Program Director, is available to answer questions, learn about your goals, and brainstorm with you. She is quite imaginative and knows all of our resources well, so she can readily help you imagine how you might match our resources to your needs.
